15 Days in Costa Rica


Stay: 14 Nights in Costa Rica.

Rate: $3250 USD per person. Based on two people, double occupancy.

Costa Rica Travel Details

Day 01: Arrival to San José, Costa Rica. Private transfer to hotel.

Arrival at the Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO). Then, you will be transferred to your hotel in San Jose – approximately 20 minutes driving distance.

Stay: 2 nights.

Hotel: Aurola Holiday Inn or similar. 5*****

Room: Standard. Breakfast included.


A representative will meet and greet you upon your arrival and will provide you with all the necessary documentation you will need during your vacation, such as vouchers, day-by-day itinerary, main contact information and phone numbers.

Day 2. San Jose City Walking Tour + Irazú Volcano + Cartago City + Ujarras and Orosi Valley.


Departure: 08:00am

Return: 4:00pm. Aprox.

Walking tour through the center of the city of San Jose. Visiting historical sites, and popular places like the central market, combined with a visit to the ancient capital of Costa Rica, the city of Cartago at the foot of the Irazu Volcano. discover the Irazu Volcano. Rising 11,000 feet (3.4 km) above sea level, Irazu is the highest volcano in Costa Rica! You will be amazed at the impressive grey earth surrounding the crater, stretching half a mile wide and resembling the moon’s surface. There we will visit emblematic places such as the basilica of the Virgen de los Angeles and the ruins of the old cathedral. This historical and cultural tour starts at 8am and ends around 4pm, including a delicious lunch at a typical food restaurant, you can interact with people on the street with the help of our guide and improve your Spanish.

Descend the mountain and arrive at the historic and colorful Orosi Valley. Here, visit one of the oldest churches in Costa Rica, the colonial church of Orosi, and discover its rich history. We will have a delicious lunch in the Ujarrás Valley. You will see typical scenarios of the villages of the central valley of Costa Rica and beautiful coffee valleys.

Day 3. Tortuguero National Park

Expedition: Tortuguero 3 days 2 nights.

Full Board Plan: Meals, land and boat transportation, lodging and tours.

Breakfast served in route to the Tortuguero National Park

Stay: 2 nights.

Hotel: Pachira hotels or similar.

Departure: 6:00am


Note: Tortuguero National Park is considered the Amazon of Costa Rica. There exist no roads to get there; consequently the final part of the journey will be by boat.

Includes: 3 days and 2 nights stay, expert local guide, transportation to and from the park, complete meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner), an excursion throughout the canals, to the Tortuguero National Park (including exploring by boat within the park via the canals and waterways, trail walks, hotel accommodations, and all taxes.


Not Included: Entrance to Tortuguero National Park is $15 per person. Alcoholic beverages or bottled water. Does not include the turtle nesting tour; paid directly in Tortuguero.

Day 4. Tortuguero

Your guide will instruct you on tours and meals.

Day 5. Puerto Viejo – Southern Caribbean.

After breakfast, shared boat transfer back to Caño Blanco where the trip will continue by bus. Lunch included in El Ceibo Restaurant or similar.

Transfer from Guapiles to Puerto Viejo. Southern Caribbean.

Stay: 3 nights

Hotel: Cariblue or similar.

Day 6. Puerto Viejo – Southern Caribbean.

Tour: Cahuita National Park Snorkeling and Hiking Tour.

Departure: 09:00am

Duration: 6 hours approx.


Snorkeling

This tour is done in a 12-person boat, with a captain and guide, around the Cahuita National Park. It is the first place in the world where in each square meter there is more biodiversity of different ecosystems on the land and in the ocean. Here, we will go snorkeling for about two hours in the most important Coral Reef of Costa Rica observing: 35 different species of coral, 123 species of tropical fish, 3 species of sharks, 6 species of eels, 3 species of sea urchins, 140 of shellfish, 44 crustaceans, 128 types of algae, sea turtles, sea cucumbers, ocean sponges, lobster, shrimp, among others. The snorkeling equipment will be provided for you (mask, fins and snorkel tube).


Hiking

After Snorkeling, we will provide you with a tropical fruit based snack and bottles water, after which we will begin the second part of the tour, which is: hiking with trail interpretation. The guide will take you to different points between Cahuita Point and the town of Cahuita (5 km) observing various types of snakes (boas, bocaraca, bush master, eyelash vipers, etc.), sloths, white faced and howler monkeys, anteaters, armadillos, raccoons, blue morpho butterflies among others, birds and many more things such as: medicinal plants, orchids, trees, ferns, vertebrates, invertebrates, sea and earth shellfish, etc.


Includes: Fruit based snack, Snorkeling equipment, bilingual guide, lunch, round-trip transportation from your hotel, hike through the National Park and bottled water.

Day 7. Puerto Viejo – Southern Caribbean.

Free day to enjoy the Caribbean beaches on your own.

Day 8. Arenal Volcano

Room: Junior Suite. Breakfast included.

Stay: 2 nights.

Unlimited access to the hotel´s hot springs.

Nothing short of “awesome” is the only way to describe the feeling one has when seeing Arenal Volcano for the first time. Moving through the valleys of the agriculturally rich Northern Zone up through San Carlos and into the towering rain forest, this is one of the most inviting regions in Costa Rica.

Day 9. Arenal.

Morning Volcano, Rain Forest Walk and Horseback Riding to La Fortuna Waterfall

Departure at: 8:00am

Duration: 5 – 6 hrs approx.


For those who have the desire to experience a Costa Rican rain forest, we offer a wonderful tour. We will start our 2 ½ hour trek through the forest. During this walk, we have the possibility of spotting 3 different species of monkeys, sloths, and a large variety of birds, including the Toucan.


We end our walk with a refreshing beverage and, hopefully, a magnificent view of Costa Rica’smost active volcano, erupting regularly since 1968.


Get spectacular views of the Arenal Volcano and the green countryside as you travel by horseback to the 140-foot Río Fortuna waterfall. Then take a 20 minute hike to the river to cool off in the rushing waters beneath the waterfall. You should go down and climb 200 steps to reach the waterfall.

Day 10. Monteverde Cloud Forest

Day 11. Monteverde. Zip Line Canopy Tour and Hanging Bridges

Duration: 5 hrs approx.


Fly, walk through the treetops. The Sky Trek Zipline will fill you with adrenaline. From the Sky Walk or suspension bridges you will see the beauty of the rain forest. A cable car or Aerial Tram will rise you throughout the forest. A unique 5 hours adventure.

Day 12. Manuel Antonio National Park and Beach Breakfast

Destination: Manuel Antonio National Park and Beach.

Hotel: Costa Verde or Similar.

Stay: 2 nights

Room: Standard. Breakfast NOT Included.


Manuel Antonio is considered to be Costa Rica’s most beautiful park, with enchanting white-sand beaches ideal for swimming, and tropical rainforest forest alive with wildlife. Watch for the monkeys and iguanas who share the park with you. Most hotels are small and intimate, set high on a hill overlooking the rain forest, endless beaches and the national park.

Day 13. Manuel Antonio Costa Rica National Park Tour

Departure: 7:15am

Duration: 3 hrs approx.

After breakfast, Pick-up at the hotel and transfer to the Manuel Antonio National Park. Have an experienced nature guide take you on an informative hike through the park. Our guides know where you are most likely to encounter sloths, monkeys, etc. they will also provide a great deal of information on the history, flora and fauna during this easy 2-3 % hours walk. Snacks are offered during the tour, and guest may remain in the park after wards.

2:00PM. Catamaran sailing and snorkeling

Duration: 4-5 hours approx.


Come aboard and see the many dolphins, whales, sea turtles, and birds of the Manuel Antonio Marine Preserve. The tour includes snorkeling equipment and a tour of the offshore islands . Wealso stop for a leisurely swim at one of the white sand beaches and dive on the underwater reefs of the Manuel Antonio Marine Preserve. Enjoy a feast of fresh fruits, grilled fish brochettes, pasta salad, drinks and the finest hospitality.

Day 14. San José
